Description

For split window buses from 3/1955-7/1963.
These are your spindles which will be modified and overhauled by us. We need about 1 to 2 weeks upon arrival of your spindles.

The modified spindles will give you aproximately 8cm of drop at the front.
The full suspension travel remains and thus the original ride comfort.

The advantage of our dropped spindles over those manufactured elsewhere lies in the machining of the connection between king pin and spindle.
But especially in the machining so that there is no play. In addition, a cap welded to the top prevents moisture from penetrating and expand the life span
of your dropped spindles
Our expertise allows us to keep more than twice the material in the sensitive areas, ensuring that the spindle does not tear off at the first pothole.

The 4 link pins are new (diameter 20mm).
The king pins are refurbished and fitted with new bushes, seals and grease nipples.

Please send us only assembled (complete) spindles!

ATTENTION
We modify the steering knuckles to fit track rods with T2 (Bay Window) ball joints.
Therefore we supply an adjustable track rod with two T2 ball joints already fitted.
However, before you can install it, you will need to take the T1 (Split) ball joint from the adjustable side of the original right rod (passenger side)
and exchange it with one of the two T2 ball joints of the new tie rod. It is obvious that the exchange must be done between ball joints with the same thread.
The supplied, now ‘mixed’ T2-T1 track rod should be fitted on the left (driver’s side) in place of the original non-adjustable T1 rod which will no longer be used.

Attach the T2 ball joint to the spindle (wheel side) and the T1 ball joint to the steering arm in the middle of the vehicle.
On the right hand side reinstall the original T1 arm with the new T2 ball joint on the adjustable end.
In the same way as for the driver’s side, the T2 ball joint is mounted on the spindle side and the T1 ball joint on the steering arm in the middle.

Once done get wheel alignment adjusted to the spec’s in the VW manual.
