Rack and pinion steering for Baywindow 8/1969-7/1970. No more play, no more steering problems! The kit replaces the original steering box.
The original mounting bolts are used.
3 need to be drilled, one needs to be enlargesenlarged:
-The hole through the longitudinal beam needs to be enlarged.
-2 M8 holes need to be drilled to attach the mounting plate to the cross member.
-A hole Ø 65-70mm has to be drilled through the cross member for the new steering push rod.
Original steering column and steering coupler are retained, no further modifications are required. The function of the horn remains as it is.
Steering is softer to facilitate manoeuvring when stationary and at low speeds. Ground clearance has been improved by 20 mm: ideal for lowered vehicles!
