Sika® Activator-205
Transparent solvent-based adhesive cleaner for non-porous substrates
Sika® Aktivator-205 is a solvent-based, colourless, clear adhesive cleaner that reacts with moisture and leaves behind adhesive compounds on the surface. These act as a bonding agent between the substrate and the primer or adhesive.
Sika® Activator-205 has been specially developed for the pre-treatment of bonding surfaces in combination with Sikaflex® and Sikasil® adhesives/sealants.

Application
Sika® Aktivator-205 is used to improve adhesion to non-porous substrates such as metals, plastics, ceramic screen prints and painted surfaces. Follow manufacturer’s recommendations before applying Sika® Aktivator-205
on materials susceptible to stress cracking.
This product is only suitable for experienced users!
To ensure adhesion and material compatibility, preliminary tests must be carried out with original materials under the respective conditions.
Preliminary tests must also be carried out to avoid stress cracking.
Application information
Adhesive surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, oil, dust and impurities. Adhesion can be improved by further pre-treatment steps, such as sanding or cleaning, before the activator is applied.
Application instructions
Wipe the adhesive surfaces with a clean, lint-free paper fleece moistened (not wet) with Sika® Activator-205. Never immerse the paper fleece in the activator. Wipe the surface only with a clean side of the paper fleece.
Change the paper fleece each time and do not moisten the same fleece twice.
Sika® Activator-205 must be used sparingly as an excess of bonding agent can lead to adhesion failure. If the pre-treated area is not bonded within the maximum flash-off time,
the activation process must be repeated (only possible once).
The optimum processing and surface temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C.
Consumption and type of application depend on the nature of the substrates.
Tightly close the can immediately after each use.
