The clutch control servomechanism operates using vacuum pressure. Over time, the diaphragm inside the servomechanism wears out or tears, preventing the servomechanism from functioning properly.
Volkswagen has never sold this part separately, and replacing the entire servomechanism was the only way to resolve the issue.
With this replacement diaphragm, your servomechanism will work properly again.
