The “V-IE” model for injection engines replaces most Bosch distributors used by VW (and Porsche on 912, 914, 356) together with the Bosch D-jetronic injection system.
(a D-jetronic has 2 additional contact points to control the injection).
The 123/Porsche-4-R-V-IE for 4 cylinders is sold with a cap with straight outputs, please compare the dimensions before ordering (see picture).
The 123 distributor is designed to be easily configured with the integrated LED. The ignition features 16 advance curves. The correct ignition curve is set by placing a switch on the side of the distributor in the appropriate position. And that’s it!

Important points for 123/Porsche-4-R-V-IE
We recommend carefully comparing the dimensions of the 123 with those of the original distributor before ordering.
Please read the installation instructions carefully, as they contain further information on installation. Several examples describe step by step how to programme the 123.
The instructions also cross-reference the original Bosch part numbers and the various settings of the 123/Porsche-4-R-V-IE, as well as a list of VW engine part numbers with the position
to which the 123 ignition should be set.
Coil and spark plugs
Used ignition coils are often no longer in good condition. It is not possible to check how often an ignition coil has overheated in the past.
Ordering a new ignition coil when purchasing a 123 distributor ensures that the coil has never overheated and will never overheat.
We recommend the high performance blue coil from Bosch.
We also offer branded spark plugs (NGK, Bosch, …) that are suitable for the buses for which the 123ignition was developed.
IMPORTANT! pay attention to the connection: When installing the distributor, it is essential that the wires are well connected to the coil, otherwise the distributor’s electronic module will be damaged immediately.
