These are original, NEW (not reconditioned) NOS BOSCH injectors that have been modified with an O-ring at the top of the hose connection. All necessary seals and new clamp-on clamps are included. A genuine plug-and-play solution.
The injectors are fitted with a new filter featuring a metal mesh and are fully tested and cleaned where necessary. The set of four is flow-matched. A test report is included.
Why do the replica injectors, offered very cheaply everywhere, not work?
The explanation is simple. It is not possible to replicate an EV 1 with reasonable effort. Although the replica fuel injectors look exactly like a BOSCH EV 1 fuel injector, they contain the internal components of a BOSCH EV 6 or EV12 fuel injector. You can easily check this for yourself. The BOSCH EV 1 is a needle valve; you can see the protruding needle tip at the nozzle tip. The aftermarket injectors have a ball seat, so there is no protruding needle tip.
Why is the BOSCH EV 6 internal mechanism a problem in EV 1 aftermarket injectors?
The aftermarket injectors based on the BOSCH EV 6 open and close more quickly with each injection cycle. This is known as a shorter dead time. As a result, the aftermarket injection valve delivers a greater fuel quantity per injection cycle. This can be taken into account accordingly when sizing the aftermarket valve. Consequently, the injection valve operates correctly at one operating point, but runs too lean at low load and revs or, depending on the design, too rich – or exactly the opposite. The practical consequences are clear. The T3 simply does not run properly. The control range of the standard ECU is simply too narrow. Problems with the emissions test are very common. These problems do not occur with these injectors. The dead times, as well as the static and dynamic flow rates, are practically identical to those of the original.
